Valdemar Reveals Party!

Wow everyone! 21 days, 71 prompts, 29 fills, and 123,567 words* later, the math adds up to every last one of you being totally awesome Valdemar fans! We hope you had fun, because we sure did. Thank you to everyone who prompted, filled, and commented throughout the past three weeks, it’s been an absolute joy watching so many incredible fanworks come through. On that note:

1. 21 Days of Valdemar is now concluded, and the reveals party begins! Our AO3 collection has been de-anoned, and you’re welcome to comment logged-in on this post to share all the fills you posted, talk to each other, link to your AO3s and Tumblrs, etc.

2. Links to reposts are now allowed on the Main Post. If you cross-posted to AO3 already, or if you plan to eventually, you’re welcome to head back to the Main Post and drop a link under the prompt. The Main Post will be perpetually anon for commenting purposes, but don’t worry about hiding your identity.

3. Prompts are still there if you want them! If you feel like writing or drawing something inspired by a prompt now that the fest is over, you’re welcome to add to the AO3 collection at any point, and drop a link under the prompt on the Main Post.

4. 21 Days of Valdemar is over--what sits on the Main Post today is a testament to your hard work during these last three weeks. No new fills should be direct-posted to the Main Post, and we won’t be actively moderating or encouraging comments on the Main Post.

5. Tag any fill post on Tumblr with “21 Days of Valdemar” and we’ll reblog for a promo on the 21 Days Tumblr! It has to be one of the first five tags or it won’t show up in the tag feed. If you don’t have a Tumblr but would still like us to post about your fic, let us know here or drop us a link on Tumblr and we can make a new post to share for you. (Full Disclosure: we have like 8 followers so it’s not going to be a massive signal boost, we just really want to brag about all the awesome stuff you guys created!)

Thank you so much for the Leareth fills - the composition of those was amazing. An Echo Of Touch is one chilling, atmospheric fic; one of the real standouts of the fest imo. I completely adored it, god. AND I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU WROTE A SONNET, THAT WAS AMAZING.

Respite was adorable. Seconding everyone who said Beloved is the classiest bestiality fic in the ever. It's so fun and sexy? Kalira's just like, I got this problem, oops, now what?

Aw thank you! That means a lot to me considering how head over heels in love I am with The Lost One. But I'm especially glad my desired tones came through with An Echo of Touch and Beloved!

:D thank you! An Echo Of Touch is just so sensuous, I can't get over it. And the dreamlike, clawing snapshot pace of it, oh god. And the hair-pulling and DUBCON FEATHER BRAIDING and rough sex, oh my god. Every word of that fic is fucking perfect and evocative and terrifying.

(It is possible you would like the one I wrote where Van goes off with Leareth. It's tragically not that explicit but at least it's fucked up?)

Ahahaha so glad you're on the dubcon feather braiding train with me :D :D Knowing what we know of Leareth/Ma'ar from later books, it made way more sense to me for him to pervert Tayledras aesthetics too, not just Herald aesthetics.

I am so looking forward to going through everyone's AO3 accounts now! (after perhaps a day or two's rest from Valdemar, haha.) I was forcing myself to abstain from other Valdemar fic before the fest because A) I needed all the time for canon review and B) I'm always afraid of getting too strongly influenced by other people's interpretations if I read fic before I actually write something in a fandom. But NOW it is open season :D :D

Oh man, not surprised you want a break first but you definitely need to read the drag AU, it is the best goddamn thing. You should also raid my AO3 bookmarks and the rec post at last_herald_mage...this fandom is OLD so we have linked good shit there going back 15 years, though most of the quality stuff has been post-2010.
